Why am I getting "Error code: 4004" when purchasing through the Epic payment platform?

Our team is aware that some players are receiving “Error code: 4004" when trying to make purchases in third-party games through the Epic payment platform, including the titles, but not limited to, Arknights: Endfield, Zenless Zone Zero, Warframe, and Dead By Daylight.

If you are affected by this issue, while our team investigates, please try the following workarounds:

1. If you have a saved payment method, remove it and manually re-enter your payment information. You can follow the steps on How do I delete my payment method from my Epic Games Account?

2. Clear your Epic launcher cache by following the instructions on How do I clear the Launcher cache on PC?

3. If possible, make your purchase directly through the Epic Games launcher instead of in-game.

4. Try completing the purchase on a different network and/or device.
