Why did I lose my Fortnite Crew content after cancelling my Xbox Games Pass subscription on Xbox?

Xbox offers the option to immediately cancel the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription with the right to a refund for players from eligible countries. When this option is used, the Fortnite Crew associated with the Game Pass Ultimate subscription and in-game content may be revoked from the Epic account.
