Why is my progress not being counted for the Fortnite Showdown challenge?

Progress for the challenges in the Fortnite Showdown Global Leaderboard Event (Opens in a new tab) is only tracked in Battle Royale, and no other game modes (like Blitz or Fortnite OG). Additionally, progress that you received prior to signing up for the event (like eliminations or victory royales) is not counted towards the progress of the challenges.
