Why am I receiving the Matchmaking Error #5 or Matchmaking Error #7 when joining a Fortnite match?

Matchmaking Error #5 appears when Fortnite is unable to connect you to a match. This is usually caused by a server issue or a network connection problem.

1. Check the Epic Games Status page (Opens in a new tab) for any active outages. If matchmaking is affected, wait for the issue to be resolved and try again.
2. Restart Fortnite and try again.
