Why do my friends appear offline in Fortnite even when they're in-game?

We have received reports from some players who are unable to send invites to their friends in Fortnite because they appear as offline while in-game. In some cases, these friends may still appear as online in the launcher.

Our team is currently investigating this issue. In the meantime, as a workaround, please try changing the game mode together with your friend and queueing for a game to refresh the friend status.
