How do I troubleshoot microphone issues in Fortnite Festival Main Stage?
If you are experiencing issues with the game recognizing your vocal input, please take a look at the troubleshooting steps below.
Mic Sensitivity
- Open Settings
- Navigate to the Game tab
- Scroll down and find Festival
- Use the Mic Sensitivity slider to adjust your microphone sensitivity
If the game still doesn’t register your vocal input, make sure that your system-level microphone sensitivity is correctly set:
- PC: How to set up and test microphones in Windows (Opens in a new tab)
- Xbox: Troubleshoot problems with Xbox Live chat on Xbox 360 (Opens in a new tab)
- PlayStation: Voice chat troubleshooting (Opens in a new tab)
- Nintendo Switch: Microphone Doesn't Work During GameChat (Opens in a new tab)
Mic Vocals Offset
Wireless headsets and microphones might introduce additional latency. If you feel that your microphone is out of sync, you can adjust the Mic Vocals offset.
- Open Settings
- Navigate to the Game tab
- Scroll down and find Festival
- Use the Mic Offset slider to find a value that is appropriate for your setup
Note: Adding an additional 60ms offset is a good starting point for Bluetooth devices. Non-Bluetooth wireless setups may require less of an offset
Windows Audio Enhancement Setting
If you’re playing on PC and it seems like you’re not able to hold long sustained notes during Mic Vocals gameplay, this could be caused by Audio Enhancements settings in Windows 11. You can try disabling them on your device:
