Why is my voice chat not working during Mic Vocals gameplay?

Mic Vocals uses a separate audio channel from voice chat in Fortnite. This means that you can sing even with voice chat turned off. If you do have voice chat active, when you go into Mic Vocals gameplay, your voice chat mode will switch to push-to-talk for the duration of the song.
