How to play Fortnite Save the World

Save the World is free-to-play as of April 16, 2026. No purchase is required.

To access Save the World:

1. Download Fortnite (Opens in a new tab) on your preferred platform.
2. Launch Fortnite.
3. Select Play.
4. In the Other Experiences by Epic section, select the Save the World tile.

Platform availability:
Save the World is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is not available on the original Nintendo Switch, smartphones, or tablets.

Free players vs. Founders:
All players have access to the full Save the World experience. Free players earn X-Ray Tickets as in-game currency, used to purchase llamas and items from the in-game shop. Players who previously purchased Save the World (Founders) also earn V-Bucks through Daily Quests, Mission Alerts, and Storm Shield Defense missions.
