What do I do if I receive a 'connect controller' pop-up when playing Fortnite with a mouse and keyboard on PS5?

If you're receiving a pop-up message asking you to connect your controller when playing with a keyboard and mouse on PS5, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Close Fortnite.
  2. Reconnect the keyboard and mouse to the PS5.
  3. Go to the Settings on your PS5.
  4. Click System.
  5. Then Remote Play.
  6. Then Enable Remote Play.
  7. Go back to the main Settings page.
  8. Select Users and Accounts.
  9. Choose Other.
  10. Select Restore Licenses
  11. Choose Restore.
  12. Press the PS button on your controller; it should open the accessories menu.
  13. Then choose USB Mouse.
  14. Go to Mouse Settings.
  15. Then Other Accessories.
  16. Choose your preferred method of playing.
