How to sync Rock Band 4 instrument controllers on PlayStation 4?
Sync Rock Band 4 controllers
- Turn on your PlayStation 4 and stay on the Main Menu.
- Make sure your controller has fresh batteries.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth Devices.
- Press and hold the PlayStation button on your instrument.
- The light will blink slowly, which means the controller is ready to sync.
- Press and hold the small wireless button on the controller.
- Drums: black button on the lower left of the center module.
- Guitar: white button where the amp plug would be.
- The light will blink red and blue, which means it is searching for the console.
- Select your controller from the Bluetooth Devices list.
- Select Yes to connect.
- Assign a profile to the controller.
- If you do not have a profile, select Create New > Guest Profile.
- Wait for the light to turn solid blue.
- A solid blue light means the controller is connected.
- If the light is red, replace the batteries.
- If the light keeps blinking, repeat the steps above.
- Press the PlayStation button to return to the Main Menu.
- Open Rock Band 4 and press the Options button to join.
Note: You must assign a profile to use the controller in-game.
Sync older instrument controllers
Legacy controllers require the original adapter.
- Connect the original adapter to your PlayStation 4.
- Start Rock Band 4.
- Make sure your controller has fresh batteries.
- Press and hold the PlayStation button on the instrument.
- The light will blink slowly.
- Press and hold the sync button on the adapter.
- Press and hold the wireless button on the controller.
- Drums: black button on the lower left of the center module.
- Guitar: white button where the amp plug would be.
- Wait for the light to stop blinking.
- A steady light means the controller is connected.
- If it keeps blinking, repeat the steps above.
Note: PlayStation®3 controllers only work inside Rock Band 4. Use a standard controller to navigate menus, then join with your instrument.
