'Microphone not detected' error when I don't want to sing in Rock Band

If you see a “Microphone not detected” message but do not plan to sing, it is likely caused by an active standard controller.

Rock Band microphones do not have buttons, so the game uses a standard controller to control vocals. If a regular controller is turned on, the game expects a microphone to be connected.

1. Turn off any standard game controllers.
2. Use your instrument controller (guitar or drums) to navigate the game.

This should remove the microphone prompt.

Note: The game only looks for a microphone when a standard controller is active for vocals.
