How do I know if a decal is compatible with my car body in Rocket League?
Most decals in Rocket League are designed for specific car bodies. Some decals only work with one car, while others are universal and can be used on many cars.
Check decal compatibility
The easiest way to confirm compatibility is in the Customize Car menu.
- If the decal name starts with a car name (for example, “Octane: Dragon Lord” or “Fennec: Edge Burst”), the decal only works with that specific car body.
- If the decal has a unique name without a car listed first (for example, “Spectre” or “Tora”), it is usually a universal decal that works with most car bodies.
You can also select a car body first, then open the decals section to view all available decals for that car.
Some decals are car-locked. Licensed vehicles such as the Batmobile, Nissan Skyline, or Fast & Furious cars often have decals that only work with those specific bodies. Rocket Pass items and event decals may also be restricted to the car they were released with. Licensed vehicles may have additional customization limits.
