OneDrive issues in Rocket League

OneDrive may cause hitching and stuttering, or EAC hang ups while playing Rocket League.

We are currently working on a fix. For the time being, our players can workaround the issue by uninstalling OneDrive or stopping Rocket League from syncing to OneDrive.

Below are 4 possible solutions depending on your preference:

Unlink your PC from OneDrive

This removes OneDrive from being linked to your PC:

1. Click the OneDrive cloud icon in your taskbar's notification area (you may need to click the up arrow to show hidden icons).
2. Click the cogwheel icon in the top right and select Settings.
3. Go to the Account tab.
4. Click Unlink this PC, then confirm by clicking Unlink account.

Uninstall OneDrive

This completely removes OneDrive from your PC:

1. Press the Windows Key + I to open the Settings app, or search for Settings in your search bar.
2. Select Apps in the left-hand panel.
3. Click Installed apps.
4. Search for Microsoft OneDrive in the list.
5. Click the three-dot menu next to it and select Uninstall.

Stop RL folders from syncing to OneDrive

This solution is for players who want to keep OneDrive but prevent RL from syncing:

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Navigate to Documents > My Games > Rocket League.
3. Right-click the Rocket League folder (on Windows 11, you may need to click "Show more options" first).
4. Hover over OneDrive, then click Always keep on this device.

Stop OneDrive from backing up your Documents folder

This solution is for players that want OneDrive to not sync their documents folder:

1. Click the OneDrive cloud icon in your taskbar notification area (bottom-right, near the clock).
2. Click the cogwheel icon, then Settings.
3. On the Sync and Backup page, select Manage Backup.
4. Toggle Documents off, then confirm by clicking Stop backup.
