I get the error code IS-UP-MF01 when updating a game on MacOS

You may run into the error code IS-UP-MF01 while installing or updating a game on the Epic Games Launcher due to the launcher being unable to relocate a file while downloading through macOS. To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

1. On your macOS device, open the Settings page
2. Click the Privacy & Security 
3. In App Management, add the Epic Games Launcher
   Note: You can also grant the permission from the Privacy & Security notification
4. Disable any background applications that could be interfering with the launcher. See: How do I disable background applications?
5. Launch the Epic Games Launcher icon in your Applications folder or on your desktop.
   Note: Enter your administrator password if prompted to confirm the action.
