How do I change Graphic Performance to increase frame rate (FPS)?
Fortnite has a built-in performance mode to help players with low frame rates. This mode helps less powerful hardware run Fortnite and maintain a smooth frame rate.
To enable the Performance - Lower Graphical Fidelity setting do the following:
- Launch Fortnite.
- Click on the player icon in the top left corner.
- Select Setting (gear icon)
- Select the Video tab (monitor icon) along the top of the screen.
- Select Rendering Mode (the last option in the Display Section)
- Click the arrows until Performance - Lower Graphical Fidelity is displayed
- Select the Apply button in the lower right of the screen.
- Restart Fortnite
If you are running in this mode, you can also free up some hard drive space. You have the option to remove the high-resolution textures from your Fortnite installation. This will save you over 15 GB of space and reduce the total size of Fortnite's installation. This may also help your computer performance.
- Launch the Epic Games Launcher.
- Select Library.
- Locate Fortnite and click the Meatball menu (three dots).
- Select Options.
- Uncheck High Resolution Textures.
