Rendering Programmer - RHI

This position is open in multiple locations across North America and Europe, including but not limited to:

What You'll Do

Epic Games is searching for experienced Rendering Programmers to help enhance and maintain the graphics of Unreal Engine. You will work directly with the brightest technical minds in the business as we build the premier game engine for multiple platforms. If you are interested in the architecture of the Unreal rendering system, you may apply your knowledge of engine design and modern graphics APIs to push the boundaries of what is possible in real-time 3D.

In This Role You Will

  • Enhance and maintain low-level subsystems of the rendering engine, such as resource management, pass graph, texture streaming as well as backends for Direct3D, Vulkan and consoles.
  • Responsible for the performance of features on multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for tools that go along with features; ensure they are usable and appropriate for artists, games, and the engine.
  • Be forward thinking to keep up to date on current techniques, research, hardware etc.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong C++ knowledge and multi-threaded programming techniques; ability to code and architect various core engine systems.
  • Demonstrated performance and memory optimization skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to dive into a complex system with quick results.
  • Excellent knowledge of shading languages and modern graphics APIs; console experience is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of modern GPU architecture.
  • Strong debugging skills for both CPU and GPU code.
  • ​​Shipped one or more AAA titles or equivalent experience using the Unreal Engine to ship real-time projects.
