What You'll Do
Epic Games is growing, and we are looking for an IT Support Studio Administrator to carry out on site responsibilities of our Service Desk, joining a small team at our Manchester site as part of Epic’s Metahuman initiative. The role will encompass tier 1, 2 and 3 support tasks, assisting with and resolving day-to-day incidents, escalating and managing as appropriate. This individual will also collaborate widely with Epic IT at other sites, including specialist support teams. Some network and server management tasks will also be involved, plus assisting local Motion Capture and Volumetric Capture Scanner teams with IT related issues.
In this role, you will
- Work with internal 3Lateral/Cubic Motion IT teams to provide support for global HPC data acquisition systems and mocap stage.
- Manage IT systems including day-to-day operations, patching, maintenance, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server systems etc.
- Be responsible for hardware setups and software support for new hires, existing hires, visitors and contractors.
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
- Perform server administration tasks including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
What we're looking for
- Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2016-2022, Windows 10, 11) and Linux server/workstations (Debian/Redhat based systems).
- Experience developing scripts to automate day to day activities (PowerShell, shell scripting or Python).
- Experience using help desk ticketing system.
- Familiarity with identity and access management systems (Active Directory, OKTA or Sailpoint).
- Familiarity with a remote display protocols (Teradici or Parsec).
- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies.
- Relevant gaming / VFX industry experience is a strong plus (support and basic knowledge of DCC tools).
