What We Do

Epic Games is looking to significantly expand its internal full-time Quality Assurance team. We are looking for serious QA professionals with wide ranging skills and experience who want to work embedded on a development team. Whether you have very limited QA experience or you have 15 years or more, we have a position for you.

What You'll Do

In the Services space, as a QA Manager,  you will join our release team that uses a combination of quality management, data analysis, and technical skills to drive and improve testing process, risk analysis and quality evaluations related to the overall release health and release deployment process for Fortnite. This is a 24 hr on-call team to support release deployments after normal business hours if necessary. In this role you’ll be responsible for managing QA professionals growth and collaborating with release stakeholders from multiple disciplines and teams leading quality initiatives that increase the visibility of the health of a given release and increase the confidence of our deployment processes pre-launch.

In this role, you will

  • Work with product owners, developers, release managers and QA management to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features / releases
  • Be responsible for reporting and tracking of quality metrics and using data to drive conversations around release quality, readiness, risks and mitigation strategies
  • Review test plans from team members for proper coverage and identifying gaps in the documentation
  • Understand our internal Fortnite app architecture and workflows to identify testing gaps that can impact release deployment and develop mitigation plans
  • Manage and iterate on our internal certification testing process to align with the delivered requirements
  • Collaborate with QA partners on workflows and processes proposing improvements to our Release Readiness strategy
  • Become a subject matter expert in our release deployment process in relation to Fortnite
  • Provide constructive guidance to QA analysts, engineers, and testers to improve their work performance and career growth
  • Lead and grow a quality assurance team as both a people manager and a tactical driver of success, with the ability to contribute to day-to-day efforts as needed
  • Develop a plan that solves the week-to-week testing requirements and expectations at a team level, and lead the team to execute against that plan
  • Escalate issues to the right owners so that major issues are visible and handled as early in the development process as possible
  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders to facilitate the flow of information and requirements between the engineering team, production, and QA

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience working in software, mobile and/or game development
  • Ability to adapt and respond to an ever changing landscape
  • Not just a people leader; Able and willing to contribute to day-to-day testing/engineering efforts
  • Experience working with and testing for multiple platforms; web, modern consoles, PCs and/or mobile devices using Android and/or IOS operating systems
  • A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices, along with different testing phase best practices and objectives (functional, system integration, UAT, performance)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving experience in technical environments
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and execute on strategy in a team environment
  • Familiarity and willingness to learn new technical frameworks, concepts, and tools
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to thrive while working in a fast-paced working environment, with the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Proven track record of successful contributions to the release of high-quality products
