Epic Games Partners With 23 Global Clubs and Brazilian Legend Pelé to Bring Global Football to Fortnite

Fortnite Players Will be Able to Show Their Club Pride with New Emotes, Outfits, and Tournaments

This week Epic Games is featuring global football - soccer to some - in Fortnite, with more than 20 top clubs participating across 5 continents. Working with our partners at IMG, storied franchises from Europe, Japan, Australia, South America, and the United States are joining Epic to celebrate the world’s most popular game with our players.

Epic has also partnered with football legend Pelé to bring his iconic “Air Punch” celebration into the game with a new emote, which players can earn early by participating in the Pelé Cup on January 20. The partnership was developed by Sport10, Pelé’s management company, and Rebel Ventures. In addition to the new emote, Fortnite players will have the opportunity to represent their favorite clubs with new “Kickoff Set” Outfits, play in Club-sponsored tournaments for the opportunity to win special prizes, and visit the Creative Hub for an immersive football experience.

“Global football is consistently one of the top sports that our players tell us they want to see and experience in Fortnite,” said Nate Nanzer, Head of Global Partnerships at Epic Games. “We’re excited to partner with some of the world’s largest football clubs and icons like Pelé to bring ‘the beautiful game’ to Fortnite fans around the world as they face off in competitive tournaments, experience new creative modes of gameplay, and celebrate global football.”
