Today we announced the new ‘Soundwave Series’ inside Fortnite, a new celebration of breakout music and artists from around the world. Building on the success of iconic Fortnite music experiences like the Rift Tour and Astronomical, each Soundwave Series artist will have their own unique interactive experience to accompany their musical set in game. All of the experiences in the Soundwave Series have been built by community creators with tools available in Fortnite Creative.
Egyptian superstar Mohamed Hamaki will kick off the series in Fortnite’s “HAMAKI’S MUSICAL SHOW” playlist starting Friday, October 1 at 2 PM ET. The show will repeat non-stop for 48 hours so that anyone can jump in with their friends throughout the weekend. The experience will feature the first performance of his new song “Leilt Elomr” and is made by community creators Team Alliance and TheBoyDilly.
Over the coming months, Australian singer-songwriter Tones And I, Brazilian rapper Emicida, Japanese pop artist and music producer Gen Hoshino, and record breaking French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura will have their own shows to experience in Fortnite.
“Music transcends any language, and has been a beloved part of Fortnite’s journey since our first in-game concert in 2019,” said Nate Nanzer, Vice President of Global Partnerships at Epic Games. “The Soundwave Series continues that legacy and will introduce incredible crossover artists from around the world to millions of new fans inside Fortnite Creative, where there are virtually no limits on what can be designed by our community.”
