Core Early Access FAQ
Core Early Access FAQ
WHAT IS CORE?
Core is an endless universe of games to play and worlds to explore designed by a global community of creators. It’s a radically accessible game construction kit and social game-playing platform, all-in-one. Whether you’re interested in playing unexpected takes on shooters, RPGs, and party games, exploring massive and spectacular worlds with friends, or unleashing your own insane game designs on the world, Core is your portal to the Multiverse. Core was in public Alpha from March 2020 to its launch into Early Access on the Epic Game Store in April 2021. In that time, the platform's features and content grew dramatically with regular updates and over 20,0000 games created and 200 new or updated games added daily.
WHY EARLY ACCESS?
Early Access means different things to different developers and publishers. For Core it means that while the platform is fully playable, we are continuing to make big and small feature improvements every month. Core is free to create and play, so there is no reason not to try it now.
HOW LONG WILL THE GAME BE IN EARLY ACCESS?
Likely less than a year.
WILL MY PROGRESS BE SAVED THROUGHOUT EARLY ACCESS?

However, many users have had success running Core on Mac via Bootcamp. Please note that Support can only provide assistance for running on Windows 10.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS IN A GAME?
Core currently allows creators to make games and worlds that support up to 16 players. The main social hub, Core World, supports 32 players. We are exploring allowing games and worlds to hold larger numbers of players.
