Sands of Aura EA FAQ
Sands of Aura EA FAQ

Why Early Access?

After 3+ years of development, we’re incredibly excited of what Sands of Aura has become so far. However, there comes a time in development when vital feedback from the community can help us shape the journey to come.
We’ve structured both SoA’s narrative and combat difficulty to work in a harmonious acts/tiers system, making it easy for us to define milestones in development that also can be released publicly for feedback. In doing so, we can move further down our pipeline, while also taking care of incoming feedback from players.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Our current timeline projects a full release in early 2023. As with all projects, this date is tentative, and if things change we guarantee that our players will be made aware of them.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

As previously mentioned, we’ll be releasing our updates by story acts, so by the end of EA, our players will be able to experience a finished story, with branching narratives already being rooted in Act 1.
Additionally, there are other mechanics to be added to the SoA experience by full release, and we will have a road map to further detail these mechanics in the near future.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Though we have not yet entered our first release period, SoA is already in a very solid state. Expect to play the first 3 acts of this adventure, with a full map to explore, side quests to complete, dungeons to clear, and a whole sand sea to sail.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Yes, we do intend to increase the price when SoA comes closer to the full package.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

As with every dedicated team, we feel the community feedback is vital for us to make the experience as best it can be. From combat mechanics to story choices, we want to hear everything our players have to say--because it’s so incredibly important for SoA’s ever-evolving journey into the game it deserves to be.
