What the developers have to say:
(FAQ update : Aug 2021)

Why Early Access?

We wanted to develop the game while giving gamers the chance to provide feedback, which will ensure the final game meets their expectations as much as possible. We will consider all feedback on all aspects of the game.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

We are planning Early Access to last several months to ensure we receive as much feedback as possible and to implement all the features required for a train driving simulator. We expect to keep the game in Early Access for 6 to 10 months.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

For the final version of Train Life: A Railway Simulator, we plan to offer a map with thousands of kilometres of tracks across Europe, which will gradually be revealed during the Early Access period.
Throughout the Early Access period, we will improve the gameplay in terms of the driving aspect and the business management aspect.
We will also add multiple trains as part of the various updates planned during the Early Access period.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

We understand how important it is to have a realistic world and gameplay in a railway simulator. We have already started to work hard on this, and we are happy with the current version, even if there is a lot more to improve and add.
The Early Access version of Train Life: A Railway Simulator lets you drive four different locomotives across Germany and create your own company.
You will already have lots of freedom when driving your train through the in-cab gameplay, so you can familiarize yourself with the game basics.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

The price of Train Life: A Railway Simulator will gradually increase during Early Access as we add new content, new features and improvements based on your feedback.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

We will collect all player feedback on our social media channels (Discord, Twitter and Facebook). The ideas and requests will then be sent to our team so they can change and add whatever they can.
