    Error: "UnrealTournament.exe has stopped working"

Hi, I'm hoping someone could help me...

I just pulled out my old Unreal Tournament CD and performed a fresh install of UT on a machine that did not have it previously installed. When I attempt to run the game, it thinks for a moment and windows gives an error that says:

    "UnrealTournament.exe has stopped working"
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: UnrealTournament.exe
    Application Version:
    Application Timestamp: 37b066cd
    Fault Module Name: UnrealTournament.exe
    Fault Module Version:
    Fault Module Timestamp: 37b066cd
    Exception Code: c0000096
    Exception Offset: 0000aae4
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.
    Locale ID: 1033
    Additional Information 1: 9a15
    Additional Information 2: 9a15941979fb227a9bff0749c543c21b
    Additional Information 3: a22a

The launcher doesn't come up or any other indication of the running game. It just goes straight into that error delivered by windows.

    What I have tried:
    1. I updated to the 4.36 patch
    2. I updated direct x to 11.0 (Win 7 x64)
    3. I installed the D3D rendered and VS2020 runtimes here at this site:
    4. Installed UT on a really clean Dual Boot of Win 7 x64 with no luck as well. The only thing on there is Photoshop and Lightroom.
    5. Running it as administrator
    6. Running it in compatibility mode for win 98, 2000, winxp sp1-sp3

    I am running a:
    - Toshiba B5200 Laptop with Windows 7 Pro x64 and 6GB of RAM
    - I3 4005U CPU with Intel integrated graphics
    - HD is a 500GB Samsung SSD

I have recently been able to get Quake and Quake 2 running on here with the wizardry I've learned about on forums, but haven't been able to find a solution to my problem for UT yet.
All your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I googled the message and there was a suggestion on Steam ( to follow this tutorial - It could help.
