    Is there a way to avoid UT3.exe crashes in GinGUTS Invasion?

    Hi, I installed Galtanors Invasion V022 with GinGUTS (v034pre) on my server.

    This mod has a lot of contents. And we can enjoy even a small number of people.
    This is suitable for the current state of the UT3 community in my country.

    But this MOD has some drawbacks.
    The most serious problem is "UT3 often crashes when new monsters spawn".

    The crash seems to happen even if I install the MOD files manually.
    Of course, crash also happens with automatic downloading of uz3 files from the server.

    In either case, when a new monster spawns, UT3 freezes for a while, and crashes occasionally.
    Is there a way to avoid these crashes? I can endure a little freeze, but I can't put up with the crash.
    This MOD is very enjoyable, If there is no crashes.

    I live in Japan. And I know that there are few UT3 players in East Asia.
    So your Ping will be huge. But please try if you are interested.

    The server name is "UT3Crasher", but I don't want to crash UT3.exe.
    I want to crash game balance and game system only.

      I play Invasion all the time. Not sure about the problem you're having though. I'm in Korea. Just tried to join but I think the server is offline.

        I made various tests to avoid crashing.

        I found that the following countermeasure are a little effective.
        There is no big effect, but it is better than not doing it

        1. Play with a big map.
        (In small maps, the incidence of crash increases.)

        2. Do not spawn new monsters at once.
        (Crash occurs when "new monsters included in multiple monster addons" first appear at the same time.
        Therefore, At the first appearance of the monster, I divided each monster add-on for each Wave.)

        3. Do not use Runestorm zombies and Runestorm skeletonss in the same game.
        (I do not know the reason. But "the game they are both used" will crash. So I used skeletons only.)

        Sorry, It was stopped for a while. I restarted the server. Now it would be joinable.

        I'm glad to meet UT3 player in east Asia.
        A few Japanese UT3 players are playing UT3 once a month now. If you are interested, please join us freely.

          Just tried your GinGUTS server and got the freezings and crashes. The server has a lot of custom stuff (weapons, mutators, etc.) ... maybe some of the custom stuff is not working together with GinGUTS ... have you ever tryed GinGUTS only without any custom stuff?

          Does only the client side crash or the server side too?

            Thank you Donaldo. GinGUTS Invasion taught me a new way of enjoying UT3.
            I am glad that you came and answered about my question.

            Crash in GinGUTS Invasion occurs only on the client side.

            I have played GinGUTS Invasion without any custom weapons and Mutators.
            Since my server is votable, players can freely exclude MODs and Mutators.
            Despite being in that state, UT3 sometimes crashed.

            Although it is obvious that heavy Mutator and MOD increase the probability of crash,
            crash occurs frequently even pure GinGUTS Invasion without any MOD and Mutator. (with additional monsters)
            Most of the crash occurs at the moment of the spawn of the monster.


            There is another problem in regard to the crash during Invasion.
            If the players are temporarily out of the server during Invasion due to reasons such as crash,
            Invasion match is automatically terminated.

            So, when the player restarts UT3 and joins the server, the player can not return to the original match.
            It is because the next match has started.

            It would be better if the game continues even if the player is out of the server.
            If the next update exists, I hope this improvement.
