I know the last post to thread took in 2yrs and need to kick out but it seems more people do have doubts to fix it. If anyone here didn't fix it from the above thread conversation then he can try my way to install it. Just download the latest version DLL file and install it at a specific location or path or you might visit the Microsoft site and find visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio (2015) download it to a specific path. After performing that you just need to restart your PC. You can still not fix it then go through a step by step process of fixing vcruntime140.dll online.

The best bet is to re-install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 again and also try to download dll file from https://dlldownloads.com/vcruntime140-dll/ and paste it in the respective folder.

Errors and fixes for a clean istalled Windows Server 2012R2:

- Add Desktop Experience Pack
- VCRedist 2012 x64 (Fixes MSVCP120.dll missing, probably not needed if 2015 is isntalled)
- VCRedist 2015 x64 (Fixes VCRUNTIME140.dll missing)
- DirectX June2010 redist (Fixes Xinput1_3 dll is missing)

edit: Had an issue which was fixed by creating a startup batch file to define map etc. The server executable failed to do an initial start without this which I didn't expect.

JohnStarlight I removed the URL, as the proper solution is the one listed in the first post. Downloading dlls off various 3rd party site is a huge security risk.

want to add in; as i had a HUUUGE pain in the *** trying to get vc 2015 installed on my server (win 2012), as one of the important MS updates is broken.

Step 1. Install as many updates as you can; yes i know it's risky with MS failing so much with updates recently... thankfully didn't kill my server ( yayz ) - should see my installed update's list; hundreds of "failed" updates lol.
Step 2. Download Windows8.1-KB2999226-x64.msu (KB2999226) - or similar; apparently a few different revisions of this update.
Step 3. Update is broken; need to manually install
//extract the package
wusa.exe Windows8.1-KB2999226-x64.msu /extract:{PATH}
//install the package
DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:{PATH}\Windows8.1-KB2999226-x64.cab

Step 4. Reboot server
Step 5. uninstall failed vc 2015 redistribution installation
Step 6. Reboot server
Step 7. install vc 2015 redistr
Step 8. Repeat Step 2 to 7, with different version of package / with update 1 / 2 RC / combos

Package Links for 2015 redist in general: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/2999226

2015 Update 2 RC (32) : http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...redist.x86.exe
2015 Update 2 RC (64) : http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...redist.x64.exe
2015 Update 1 (32) : https://download.microsoft.com/downl...redist.x86.exe
2015 Update 1 (64) : https://download.microsoft.com/downl...redist.x64.exe
2015 Redist (32) : https://download.microsoft.com/downl...redist.x86.exe
2015 Redist (64) : https://download.microsoft.com/downl...redist.x64.exe

Took for ever to get it installed for me; few hours

VCRUNTIME140.dll missing error

If you get this error when starting the the May 12th build of the server, make sure you have the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 installed. You can download it from Microsoft website here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=48145
