Come in show off some skills and kick some ideas around!

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums but I'm not new to making cool stuff. That being said I didn't see a thread for people to come in and show their skills so I'd like to invite others to post things that maybe don't fit the unreal aesthetic that will still give others an idea of your talents. So if you have skills lets see them!

Tough crowd eh? I posted some art in my own thread and got only crickets too. Well, c'est la vie. Your stuff looks nice.

I deleted my thread, I'll just post it here instead.

Omg I got a reply! LoL I had all but given up hope. I really like the design of your character, although if I had one critique it would be the facemask/eyepiece. something more like Romulus or Remus from ut2k4 would be cool. http://liandri.beyondunreal.com/Iron_Guard#Lauren_2

Some cool stuff here guys. Thanks for posting. thatscrawnyki I like your weapon model and that UT level shot looks cool. The guy with the sniper rifle is also has a nice feel. HenrikRyosa, it would be nice to see this guy with some orthographic views, side and back. He's cool but pretty stylized in execution. Would love to see him have a bit more realism to his proportions and render. Good start though.

          Old realtime model.
          Need to practice characters more.
          More influenced by doom3 & quake 4.

I made 360 degree panoramas from UT3 and used them for Imaged Based Lighting.

Used "togglescreenshotmode" command to hide everything but the environment.

Used them in this video after submitting the still renders to the 3D fan art challenge.

First let me start by saying thanks to Chris for the kind words, it means a lot coming from you! Feel free to show us wimps how it's done by posting some of your personal work if you'd like. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the direction the game is heading also, I know it's early but it's never too soon to push us in the right direction. @CognizanCe your work is really nice that war cow made me laugh, hard. Just awesome! I'd like to show some more recent stuff and hopefully get some more people to share.

This is a Modular cliff set I designed using a process outlined by Hourences in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SxTqlom3Fg (around 4:00)

Modular medieval assets made using a similar process.

            More rocks lol

More rocks, this time with vertex painted grass.

More modular assets in a test scene

A very basic layout for a capture the flag map

And finally my take on the original necris from UT99.

On a side note my username was supposed to read thatscrawnykid if there is a way to change that I'd love to know lol.

You got some nice looking robot there, thatscrawnykid I know someone who would really love it as playable char.
All those scenes here are just.. eyecatching. Love these armors and guns too!
Now I'm too ashamed to post my old skins done for UT99. Heck, it's been more than 10 years ago. I can't even tell if all those are mine or I even forgot some. But most are gone I guess.

Good day! Thought I would join in the party and share some of my work. Would love to contribute towards creating the next UT game, what an amazing project to be a part of! I've been stuck for what to do next towards my Portfolio website (not live yet) so this would be a fantastic opportunity for that! Anyways, here is my most recent work - a high poly model of a futuristic style Robot with caterpillar tracks. At some point I intend to retopologise it, bake normals and possibly even have it in UE with working caterpillar tracks, but when that'll happen I have no idea! Still learning this stuff as I go...

Also, here is a link to a showreel I put together for my final project at university last year. We made a game and I was the environment artist in a team of 4 guys. The game was put together in UDK 3 and most of the environment and it's 3D assets you see were created by myself.
