Because this is a competitive shooter. If you give characters different hitboxes, competitive players will all be picking the model with the smallest hitbox.

All characters MUST acceptably fit the same hitbox.

"Competitive players" will always choose female characters because of visibility ...female characters have always in every shooter the smallest/thinnest body shape/frame, even so they share the same hit-box with the male characters, are they less visible.
To give them the same hit-box is a must but the shape should/can varies more, IMO.
... because at the end is it meaningless for a "competitive player" how its avatar model look like... He/she will always choose the model with the worst visibility.

          Preach
I've always said that people should be able to do whatever the hell they want with character design as long as they can justify the difference in how that character looks and how it moves around in gameplay, or how it looks in comparison to all the other characters. Robots can look like **** near anything, for instance, and heavy-set people could use jumpjets and prosthetics to move around rather than pure agility.

            Iron guard?
            No, just no.

            Juggernaut?
Probably, with more armor suits. And not going overboard with shapes..
