    Tutorial, designing believable firearms

    Believable firearms in an unreal game, sounds a bit heretical, but I figured I'd post this to give budding artists an idea of how actual guns function, from an artist's perspective. I made these a while back and they've become relatively popular Feel free to ignore, but you gotta know the rules before you can break them, and people have been saying they want to add more believability to UT

    Thanks for this! Sometimes it's too easy to forget the basics.

    It's also worth mentioning that the different guns in UT are made by different manufacturers. This also gives you different ways to play with for the overall look and function; How would this crew solve this problem? It's a bit like muscle car versus sports car design philosophy.

      Also, energy weapons probably have way different design.
