          Thanks guys for your support and kind words.

          But keep in mind, even if this script is only using official tools (UnrealPak) which should work perfectly for the game, the pak files are sensitive in working correctly in general. Therefore avoid using this script as your final step for your final release of your map. Rebuild/re-share the map when the new build as been released.

          Also to note, the checksum (md5 hash) changes if you re-compress the pak file. Never share both versions with the same name. Otherwise clients would not be able to download the correct version.

            Any one heard of problems using this re-packaging script? Since the new build is hopefully about to get released in minimal 2 weeks, this script is the only change to share a proper sized map pak. I could update this script to be a cooker script as well which then creates a proper pak file without possible platform issues (which raxxy said could exist).

              first version was broken for me and a few others.

              seems ok now, i've automated that script into an irc bot for people to use (https://ut.rushbase.net/unrealprime/Compressed)

              I've had an issue or 2 recently with a few things that don't happen when compressed, but that could be because of how i'm running certain things being far less error tolerant

                Hmm. So you compressed files for server administration even if the original authors didn't provide a compressed pak file? These could run into several mismatches and forced re-downloads on clients which play on a different servers where the original files were used or they installed the files manually. The upcoming build will likely pass this problem as pak files come pre-compressed but the system with overriding pak files with the same filename in the specific download folder is still problematic. Hopefully, one day the pak files are mounted based on the hash, filename and content so it is guaranteed the clients play with the right version and not local files gets overwritten.

                  Since the new build will likely have an increased network version causing pak files packaged with the current or older builds/editors not being mounted/loaded, I've updated the script to specify a custom network version when packaging the files. This step shouldn't be done, ever. There is a reason why this network version has been increased. And remember, only use this script in order to make a pak file compatible if the original author cannot be asked anymore or the original files do not exist anymore.

                  If you still need to make a pak file compatible, check the first post for more information (and the download).
