    Blinking material turns off at distance

    I'm trying to use a copy of M_Blinking_Light:

    On a helicopter, but I'm finding that when I get not so far away it simply stops blinking and becomes a static unlit surface.

    Despite my best efforts, I cannot find anything inside the material options, material BP or elsewhere to fix this. I know with point lights you can fade by distance, but there must be some way to make this work?

    I read up on culling and found that rendering in project settings could potentially fix this, but I turned off culling and texture streaming in the project and still no go. It seems the size of the object matters, but I can't make my light bigger without looking silly (it goes on a helicopter).

    Any ideas?
