    Material Stretching

    Can't figure out how to fix this. It just started happening yesterday while I was "building all".
    I aligned the texture using multiple options, but nothing "sticks"
    It mis-aligns during the lighting build on multiple brushes and surfaces.

      It's happens everytime you "rotate brushes at anything other than 90 degree incréments."

            Quick Fix:

            Select the surface in question, do either Shift-S, Shift-B, or Shift-T, then go to the material properties tab, and under the alignment dropdown select "Surface Planar".

              The help is appreciated, but we're past that. After it's aligned and the map is "built", it reverts back.

                Yeah, though you can still build the map, re-align the textures, and then save. That's what I've been doing with most of my maps.

                    I did several geometry rebuilds over the weekend in the most recent release of the Editor and I couldn't find any evidence that the texture alignment/reset problem has been fixed. Every rebuild destroyed my texture alignments on certain brushes.

                      Hey SPEC, I noticed yesterday testing your map for the server and noticed stretching on top of one of the towers! ... I think? (not sure) was the shock tower where the pickup is!

                        Sorry if I gave anybody false hope, but my BSP doesn't show the stretching anymore. Not sure what I did or didn't do.

                        That's a different stretching. Everything except the lower part of the buildings is made with a temporary generic mesh. And the materials stretch because the original size of the mesh is pretty small.

                          Would the same thing happen if the BSP was mirrored instead of rotated?
