    [PROTOTYPE] Hall Of Giants Collection

    To avoid confusion over testing and which versions are active etc. I would like to list them here, at the tope, so hopefully no one misses it:
    • My main priority at the moment is the newest version of Redux. I need the most feedback on this and I am trying to build it around the new mechanics in UT4!
    • However I have finished porting the original version from UT99 complete with the XL version for die-hards. This doesn't need testing tbh, but I would love some feedback on things like the gravity in the XL version?
    • There are a couple obsolete versions, for all purposes you can ignore them, but if you feel like it I have left them up for you to play <3


    UPDATE:
    Due to it being mentioned I will make a scaled up version as well as a scaled down version of the variants, after some tests I found the small versions are fun on normal gravity, but on the XL versions I have weakened the gravity manually so it's more fun to play and no need for mutators in servers.
    All scaled up versions will have XL at the end of their name while the rest are normal size.

    1 - Direct Port (Normal + XL Done)
    2 - Keeping the shape of the map linear but reworking the layout/items a lot + balancing for UT4 (In progress)

          It's worth having in, some people might like them, and if you get a bad spawn at least you have something to run with until you find something better :P
          Also if you're testing it, try insta as well as normal <3

            I was about to say "I hope you keep the scale close to original" ... only to read that you didn't :P It's not a "walking simulator" when it's supposed to be low grav and the tubes boost you. If you scale the map too small, the air hangtime is just gonna make players sitting ducks in this sort of straight room. Also the grand scale was kinda what lent it the name "Hall of Giants"... it felt epic. I don't want to play hall of midgets. Just my 2 cents.

              Well I can quite easily make an original sized one again, but it may take a while. Unless I could get a link to download that scaling tool Cap.Migraine used for Lea?
              I found when playing with bots that it actually is more fun with normal gravity on the scaled down version, personally I prefer it, although I do share the nostalgia of the original

                Do the tunnels even work on that scaled down version? They look like you'd need to crouch to get inside them.

                If I were you and I was doing 3 versions, I'd do them at 3 different scales, classic should be changed as little as possible, then the other two you do what you wish with.

                  Awesome! I was wondering if someone would make a Hall of Giants map. It's fun if you don't take playing UT as a deadly serious undertaking and if you can get about 14+ people on a server at once. I remember that there was even a dedicated Hall of Giants only server in UT99.

                    I for one would have no objection about them being put on a server, I'd love to play with some real people

                    And yes all tunnels work, and you can walk in them without having to crouch, I made sure to keep that in. Also the tunnels work by having invisible rivers in that flow at 10,000 mph :P not sure if there's a better way of doing it, but it works for now almost exactly like the original.

                        I thought those community WIP borders were for the community maps selected to run on Epic Hubs!? ... not for everyone to use?

                          I'm honestly not sure, they don't state that other people aren't allowed to use them, they just say that they want the maps chosen to include the border. I can remove it if it proves too much of a problem, but I guess it is a WIP Community Map so it does fit the description :P
