CTF-PALEOPARK (Working titile - also for Robo Recall!)

CTF-PaleoPark will be a Capture the Flag map based on, but not an exact copy of, the visitor center of the original Jurassic Park. The map will be completely rotationally symmetric, but with different themes for both sides (blue will be research, red will be more visitor oriented)

The blockout is coming along nicely, and soon I will show a 3D version of the complete layout. After the blockout is ready to be tested, I will upload it too.

Let me know if you have any wild ideas, or a good idea for a name.

        Electrified fences, with toggleable power-grids.
Sliding doors. Lots of sliding doors.
        Trap rooms.
Lots of overgrown foliage, like, tonnes of it.
A canopy forest, i.e.; one which makes it impossible to see the horizon and has lots of jacob ladders / occluded light.
        Water.
Lots of Post Processing to give the illusion of high humidity, as if water vapour is trying to squeeze itself out of the very air in front of your face.
2-5% stronger gravity, as a higher humidity would cause physics to be different on projectiles and body movement would be lowered due to the same factors on the human body.
Lots of Jungle noise ambience. bugs etc.
        Rich greens and reflective metals.

I think I'll keep this map entirely indoors though.

Not really Jurrasic Park if it's all indoors though. Not saying it wouldn't work, just saying what's the point of just using indoor areas with such a rich and vibrant outdoors on your doorstep?

I mean, if it's all indoors then the interior space could be anywhere at any time in history, and it nullifies the point of having it on location.

I'll give it some thought, but I'm still not sure.

              In the meantime:

              Big mess of bones!

Well, you could also incorporate the indoor and outdoors. Also when is this? Is it before the dino breakout or after or years after?
If it is years after you could add plants that overgrown the place and add some story telling through the level design.

I was thinking original JP style, late mid 90's. Fat Computer monitors and all.

I want it to be before the outbreak, so not too overgrown. I did that for my last map already, and I think cleaner is harder to get right. Not too clean though.

                        Thanks!

I'll leave for London for a week so expect the thread to be a bit dead, but I'll try to post the general layout idea I have before that.

I came up with the idea of maybe 2 rooms on the left and the right side, around the central piece, which is connected underneath. What do you think of that idea?
