    My first map for UT4, and my first UT map in a whooping 7 years!

    Key Features:
    • Snipe the major powerups from the whole opposite side of the map!
    • Use the underground zone to JumpBoot your way to pretty much any place within seconds... at your own risk!
    • The sides have the weapons and pickups. The middle has the z-axis advantage.
    • Quite a lot of shortcuts and crazy jumps for advanced players to be found (map can be navigated perfectly without jumptricks, though).

    My approach on Team Showdown balance and spawn placement:
    • A first set of spawns are placed quite close to the weapons, which should be the standard choice most of the times.
    • A second set of spawns enable multiple choices at start at the cost of a slightly higher time to get your first weapon.
    • In addition to those, there are 2 spawns next to the JumpBoots pickups, which might as well not be overlooked considering the movement possibilities they open up.
    • Flak, Rockets and Shock are the favourite weapons, but they don't have any nearby powerup.
    • Bio, Link and Minigun are closer to the powerups, but at least one of the secondary spawns is a faster route to the powerup than the weapon spawn.

    • Thanks also to 'tidu' for the Blueprint help to make the Keg spawn only on DM and TDM!

    Very nice layout indeed, loads of neat movement possibilities. I love how you can cut through the centre of the map with some risky jumps using the boots.

        Haven't tried it yet, but the visuals and minimap look cool !
        I can feel a setting between wet, mossy stone walls, medieval architecture, and a foggy atmosphere.

          New version is up! Just a little update!
          DM-Batrankus_BSPv1a (Updated on May 07) [BSP Version is still supported. See the first post.]
          - A Keg spawns in the middle of the map on DM and TDM (ty tidu for the Blueprint help!).
          - Added PlayerStart next to the Sniper.
          - Some minor geometry changes by the Shock zone's top floor.

          Protip: don't pick up overcharge if you know the enemy has the boots!

          Glad to hear you like that, it's indeed one of the things that made the map the way it is. You can also do some crazy boot tricks by jumping out of the bounds of the map BTW...

          I definitely want to add some moss and veg, although I'll try to focus on a basic meshup for the contest, and perhaps go for those details if I have some extra time, or once the contest is over. Not sure about the fog though... I don't want the competitive guys to complain about visibility...

                  Meshed Version is Up!

                  Pretty much devoted my life's last 2 months to this, but it's finally ready! See first post for screenshots and details!

                  I will keep supporting the BSP version of the map for competitive play, although the meshed version should perform pretty well too... Expect an update of the BSP version soon with a couple of changes I did in the meshed version...

                        +1, really nice meshing.
                        For the finishing touch, I'll add some moss on the bottom of the walls, and I would also try to add some water flowing here and there to break the repetitivity of the stone texture.
                        And maybe switch to a more rainy / foggy mood.

                          We're playing this map right now on our USA Chicago based server, search for MPF
                          Very nice games so far we played twice in a row lol, ppl really like it
