      Is there going to be a headshot function for the swords? And/or more animations for the swords?

              Ok, been thinking about the head shot concept, and currently it just logs a single head shot using the usual UT functionality, but....and not sure this has been done before, but thinking on a Multi head shot function...
              I mean, after all, if the shot lines up correctly to take off several heads at once, then why not? even better...
              not sure if prior incarnation of chaos did this or not. flagg?

                The chainsaw had an alt fire that had you swing the chainsaw and that granted headshots if aimed at the head.

                Maybe the same thing could happen with THIS weapon?

                Just make sure to add swinging animations to it.

                  Animations is a Can Do, and we have some already. Was the chainsaw allowing multiple head shots in a single strike? Currently, the sword grants a single head shot if aimed at the head, and it works exactly like the sniper does, uses the same code to render the decision if one is granted or not. What I am considering is applying this logic to multiple heads in a single swing of the sword. Granted to do that I have to change the traditional head shot rules a bit....Oh the deviousness .....Oh! the blood...Oh the twitching arms....ok now I'm getting outta control...

                    I'd assume the Chainsaw could only headshot one enemy at a time.

                    You'd have to have two enemies pretty close to eachother if you want to get a double headshot, if that's what you're planning.

                      I sure don't remember us ever talking about that. Which means we probably did the standard default headshot detection as you described- which would mean the answer is no. You'd be the 1st.

                      Not likely to be too many chances to use it in-game, but if it should happen, it'd make for a hell of a highlight reel.

                      Same old routine here, the effort vs payoff equation needs to be looked at. If it's a large effort, may not be worth it. Up to you to decide.

                      Edit: still wanna see hoverboard drive-by headshots as well!

                        It's already coded inside my brain. It's not going to be hard to implement. I have to change the traditional rules a bit, but for a sword, it makes sense to me. All the normal head shot rules would apply, just done along a sword sweep path rather than a single point. Yes the enemies would not only have to be close, but all the heads would need to be hit perfectly by the sweep. Difficult to pull off, but when it happens, people are gonna go O.o . I believe in pushing the envelope and going next gen as much as possible, so Let's Do Dis...i'll post up a vid here with a demo

                          Achieved. Ignore my debugging trace lines. Implementation was very fast. The standard headshot rules were modified by me to account for looking in multiple directions, along the sword path.

                            Work continues on this here mod.

                            Warhead is currently spending some time squashing various bugs 'n stuff we've had crop up in previous builds. His work isn't easy, but he on occasion does emerge from his cave with a long beard and a story to tell (as TSK described it recently).

                            And while Warhead is doing that, Thatscrawnykid has made some updates to the crossbow model. It's still a work in progress, as usual, but I'm really digging it so far;

                            Previous versions had a 'normal' arrow as the default ammo, with explosive, poison, and flaming arrows also available as pickups. This time however, we're probably going to just do away with the normal weak-*** arrows. Most folks preferred explosive anyway, so why mess with anything less. Most likely going to see explosive, heavy damage arrows as the default ammo.

                              *strokes overgrown beard* That looks amazing. Can't wait to see that coded. Explosions are good for me, just like that UT4 Proxy says, so say I: "I was trained at the Michael Bay Institute..."

                              the next iteration s/b released fairly soon, then it will be time to cut the beard. lots of bug fixes and stability enhancements in this one.
                              hoping to get the mysterious device flagg mentioned earlier in play soonish.
                              skulls n arrows will have to wait :/
