Hold on to your seats! Here comes CTF-Whiplash

Whiplash is designed for fast-paced, intense high-body count action and competitive CTF play. The ideal number of players is probably 10, but it should do fine for 6-14 players.

This is a remake of my UT99 map CTF-Dagnys-P***ywhipped, but using a much improved texturing scheme, resulting in excellent visual clarity. The UT99 map was well-regarded by people who played it in 5v5 PUG matches at #Speedpug. The new map was built from the ground up in the UT4 Editor and is not a UT99 port.

I kinda like that view. It looks like it can be a lot of fun, but it's missing something.
1. Long hallway which is risky due to long view. Always loved these kind of hallways in maps. Makes me bite my upper lip always.
2. Too simple. It's ok to block passage, but do it with something interesting to look at.
3. Same
4. Would be better if this spot went up to camp in clear sight instead of behind a wall. A balcony watching over the flag or some sort. Easy target, but still hard for enemies to get to. Merely a plain wall is boring for the flag carrier.
5. Maybe some modesty in your OP would receive more feedback "but using a much improved texturing scheme, resulting in excellent visual clarity". Texturing is a la Jackson Pollock style. Try again. You'll get there.

#1 is not a bad idea. I kind of like it the more and more that I think about it. It would add additional "square footage" to the map, making it larger, but I think it would be OK. I'll have to experiment with it. Perhaps there could be a version A and B, and the marketplace of server admins and players could decide which version they like. I had also contemplated replacing all of the white walls with plain black to produce a "dark" map like what you see in the screenshots at this link, but with less color:

Here is a "Dark Map" version that I made in a few minutes. I suppose I'd turn the skylights dark and perhaps cut the thickness of the colored border bars in half.

Just found out that ALL maps have to be re-cooked/publish under this new build we got today in order to work online! .... I have confirmed this by doing one of my own maps!
.... don't forget to Re-Name the map with the next version number!

Looks like a cross between church design and corporate office design. The ceilings seem to clash with the rest of the map. But I like the layout; it's a nice classic symmetrical map.

All of my maps have now been fixed. The July 31 builds had no lighting in game, but I just repacked them all and playtested them in the UT game itself, so they're all back to normal. Get the 08-09-15 versions at my Rushbase account:
