    [PROTOTYPE] DM-Placebo Effect

    UPDATE: I start to work on it again!

    Hi guys !

    My second map is a 1v1 Placebo Effect

    * Custom armor system by Flikswich (thanks a lot): Stackable, respwan 25s
    * Keg O'health respawn 60s

    Bot are enable so give me your feedback, weapons layout, size or other and of course Enjoy!

    Alpha V3:
    - Add lift instead of teleporter at Keg
    - Add blocking volumes on staires
    - Change some BSP
    - Change some lights

    Alpha V2:
    - scale all the map to ~1.30
    - Change Keg respawn to 60s
    - Change lighting
    - Add some orange spots lights
    - add some blue lights on blues lines

    Hey man, presume this is a port/remake of quake map? Cool

    Will check it out if I get time, but one thing.. if you know it needs to be scaled still why put it up for upload? Seems like a waste to put it up and get feedback when you know the scale is already way off.

      It's a remake of Quake 4 map yes.

      Actually change scale for just XY and no Z was difficult to me, Dunno perfect tips, aznd will be long so I prefere show my work if someone wana try. I will update with new version today.

        Looking great

        I think you chose the perfect q4 map to remake, it has a real ut style to it imo. In the long run it might be nice to replace some teleporters (such as the one by the keg) with lifts to make the map feel more ut suited.

        Also I'm not sure if you've changed the keg timer or not but I'd be careful of making it too short.

          Well the scale feels okish, hard to say, some jumps up are awkward that would be simple in quake (up to rocket), try to change those to slopes to dodge up instead I guess. You hit your head wall dodging quite a bit.

          Teleporters are a bit finicky right now in UT too, they don't keep fixed rotation for the player character so its difficult to control jumps after teleporters like you can in Quake. Not impossible just harder, you also can't dodge right after a teleport if you dodge in so that slows you down a lot.

          Noticed you changed the armor settings and keg timings, I've thought about and tested this kinds of thing before. Problem is in UT Keg health doesn't tick down so its pretty **** strong. That and that UT damage can be really really high. Personally I would consider how you could edit the map so that you can keep settings that have been relatively standard for duel in previous UT games, otherwise you will need a tonne of tests on duel for people to have any idea if its balanced.

                          I've been considering victorian/steampunk theme for my own map, kind of urban/industrial area in that setting, optionally with some scifi touches. Though I haven't decided yet, but I like the idea, so I voted for it
