    Foregone Destruction

I'm going to make a remix of Foregone Destruction.

My concept is to give it a harder drumstep vibe. Think Noisia. I'll keep the same tempo of the original (168) and generally the same beat. I want to have a massive half beat section during a breakdown, and a cheesy overdone buildup at the start that will make for a good fan made trailer. This may or may not be what works best for a videogame, and it may not be the style everyone wants, but I'm doing it anyways. I can hear it in my head and it has to get out.

I'm going to try to be as open as I can while making it. That means posting all my midi and bounced audio clips. These will be hosted on Mega. So if you want to make your own version I've already done the hard work of figuring out the notes for you. Keep in mind that I post the full 24 bit raw wav files, and you should only download them if you plan on using them. If you want to just listen look for the MP3's.

Don't forget the music is meant to be Ambient, that is, background music complementing the experience. The music would be rather distracting and hindering the experience, if it were too choppy or attention-demanding.

That's why I specifically addressed this point in my first post. I don't care that it was meant to be ambient. I'm making a hard track. I'm including all my work including the MIDI tracks so it should be easy for someone to use it to make their own mix or to take my mix and tone it down for inclusion in the actual game.

Another update. Main hook! Note that the drums are just placeholders.

Agreed. Also Forgone Destruction is used for maps in space typically, hence it needs to feel athmospheric. Drumstep is kind of too heavy for that music imo. I've listened to your samples and it's cool, could work as a UT music. But it's not really suiting Forgone Destruction. My two cents you should make your own UT soundtrack, you have potential

Here is my favorite artist : Phrakture
He makes a lots of progressive breaks/ambient (and other style like IDM, DnB etc.)
He did a couple years ago 3 remix of some music of UT99

Here is a remix of Foregone Destruction :

For the moment, it's my favorite remix of this fantastic music !!!

this is like the perfect music for a game like wipeout!
I love the sound of it, but i do think that ut music should sound a little bit mysterieus. ye i know mysterieus is not realy the correct wordt but I cant think of a better one.

Hey man, don't forget, you can easily download modtracker and load the original song in it to see all the notes, velocity values, original samples, etc... It's really quite easy to get the original song and all of its bits and pieces.
