    Hey! Great start on the sniper rifle! I hear that you added a bass drop on deploying and retrieving the weapon. I feel the bass drop needs to be tighter with the foley, rather than lingering at the end. Especially with a hectic game like UT, other sounds will clash with the lingering bass. But I appreciate that I can hear it in my subs!

    Nice revisions. I like firing sound 1 and 3, especially that rechamber sound.

    Deploy sounds better and pickup sound is awesome.

    I just uploaded a 3 seconds long revision of the primary fires and a few other ones. Personally I found it much better than the previous one.

    Either the way I'm gonna make two iterations: one for semi-auto and the other one with bolt action. Perhaps I'll add a more "pistonized" sound if I go into the bolt action thingy. I'll upload more sounds by monday.

    I didn't know that. I thought that it was gonna be semi-auto. I'll work at a second revision making a few more modifications about it. And about the deploy sound, this was a just start and it was more like something to star out from, but I'll take that into account. I'll go into some more foley then .

    There we go.

    As for the sounds, firing sound number one has the better punch and feel of a Sniper Rifle being fired, though if I think right, this Sniper Rifle will be bolt action too, so a rechambering sound might needs to be added in.

    Deploy sound, it's a good start but they sound a bit weak to me. And the Zoom in sound fits the weapon pretty good.

    ARĂ”, PEOPLE!!!

    I'm Illya Benkard, a newcomer to this forum and I would like to tell you people that I'm very excited about the next Unreal to come and to be a contributer of this great project! I'll be acting more on sound design around here and I'll try to send you people my works on sound effects, voiceovers and musics.

    Well, here ya go. I like the Sniper role and I must say, when I played both UT '99 and Unreal I loved to have the upper hand and sniping people out to Oblivion. So nothing more fair to suggest a sound design for my favourite weapon in Unreal.

    This was done in a very rushed up manner and I expect you to make suggestions to help me improve this work. I'll be looking forward to put more effort into these samples, because they surely need polish.

    UNREAL TOURNAMENT - Sniper Rifle SFX Alpha 0.2

    New iteration! I could put more effort in this version and I added hydraulic sounds in order to simulate an impact dampening system, where the barrel retracts and ejects, like in some real-life rifles, to name Barret as an example. I also changed the overall sound of the weapon, focusing more on the supersonic crackle of the bullet leaving the barrel and cutting some of the remainder. The result is the following.
