Wrote a new track here inspired by CTF-CrashSite, think it works well for this map, so wanted to show the tune being played with the map...now you can watch how horrible I am =P

But yeah, I wanted something melodic but also with a techy side to it, since you got the crashed spaceship but also the old structure atop these huge mountains, so I think I got what I was looking for.

    Hope you enjoy!

So, is it ok, If I'm using your song "Big Step Forward" in a map I'm working on?

I will open a thread (with download ofc) in the next few weeks, so you can have a look at it.

Of course go right ahead! Big Step Forward is actually by the brilliant mind of LeStR, just edited and made loopable by myself for UT4. Every track though that I've posted up on the first post of this thread is free to use no worries! I've checked with the original artists/label owners for the edits I made such as Big Step Forward to get permission to modify and use these for UT4 royalty free =) and of course anything I make is free to use as well, I encourage it! Glad you like the tunes, thanks! =)

It's great your up & running and making new stuff

Talking of new stuff, this one as great potential I already post on Soundcloud but I thought of posting here also since it fit's UT pretty well and a collaboration with Archer will give the community another awesome track for sure

Been a while since I posted anything I know! A very generous friend sent me a few terrabyte hard drives and an SSD, so I really gotta thank him for that, Combustion over at Beer Warrriors, bigups! On my feet now ^^ Though I still haven't recovered the dead drive unfortunately, it's just too expensive right now.

But hey I got some new chunage!

    https://shivaxi.bandcamp.com/album/i...e-teebee-style

    https://shivaxi.bandcamp.com/track/blue-motion - FREE

These aren't UT4 specific, so I won't be posting these in the first post. Just figured I'd show some of my latest releases and see what you guys think! I also released a free bootleg/remix album you can grab here:

    https://shivaxi.bandcamp.com/album/b...-remixes-vol-1

Again nothing for UT4 right now as I don't think these fit, but I'll be working on some UT specific stuff soon! Also working on a new track with Archer! Short little sneak preview here:

It was a 1tb that was full. Every video game I ever owned is gone, which wouldn't be a big deal if it didn't include all my mod projects for Unreal and other games. I have most of my music stuff backed up, but I lost 4 months of music projects I was working on. My video projects were fortunately on an external drive. Point being though it may be a while before I can get everything back together in order to continue making music and whatnot.

The drive in question that failed will not even power, and I heard a scraping sound right before it died, like the disc was spinning and scraping against something...so not really a good sign. Theoretically it's possible to still recover some data, depending on what actually went wrong or how badly damaged the disc inside is, via sending it to a place that has a Clean Room for decontruction HDD's, extracting the discs and manually reading the data off if possible. That option would cost anywhere from 500 to 4000 dollars, and that is not money I'll be coming across any time soon haha.

I guess we'll see what happens...need a new drive now...I'll let you guys know.

(also PM me if you guys have any recommendations for HDD's - SSD's are out of the question for the kind of storage I need...and I'm not exactly fond of either Western Digital or Seagate...though they kinda did buy out everyone else and they're the last 2 remaining HDD makers on the planet lol...oh well)
Dang, that is awful. I am really sorry to hear that. Losing so much data is never good. Glad some of it was saved though.

I released a free song yesterday, you can find here:

If you guys think it's something that'd work for Unreal Tournament, I'll gladly make a UT version of it =)

Its very heavy on the synth/electronica and D&B angle which doesn't have a huge audience, unfortunately. UT's music has been as varied as its visual style, so there's always room for this type of sound in the game, but I don't think we've found a place for it in this title just yet.
On the contrary, I believe a lot of the music in UT99 was heavily synth and DnB focused, and UT99 has one of the most memorable soundtracks in Unreal Tournament history. I mean this community practically begged to get Alexander Brandon and Michiel Van Den Bos back on the team to create new music for UT4. I aimed my style towards the the style of UT99, and of course my music won't be the only music in the game. I expect many others are hard at work making music for UT4, including Alex and Michiel and some of our community members such as Archer, who will bring more and many different styles to the game. I am very glad you like my stuff and took the time to check it out! One of the reasons I think DnB doesn't have a huge audience though is because not many actually know DnB. It is indeed an underground genre, but again look at those who have played UT99. The soundtrack is ALWAYS praised as the best the UT series ever had to offer. It's timeless and memorable. I don't believe you will have to worry about appealing to your audience =)

Also, just finished a new track! v1 at the moment, will perhaps make changes later on, but this is the first completed version of it

EDIT: Made some quick changes, little better mastering v2 now:

    Cybernetika - Antares (Shivaxi Remix)
    MP3 --> https://www.dropbox.com/s/v0wgyq3adg...%20V2.mp3?dl=0
    WAV --> https://www.dropbox.com/s/wd59ps6xuk...%20V2.wav?dl=0

( sorry no soundcloud link, I ran out of space on my soundcloud and am unable to upload anymore =/ )

Wanted to do a more jungle style track, and I came across the samples of Cybernetika's track Antares he sent me years ago, started playing around, and ended up with this remix I'm pretty happy with so far. Lemme know what you guys think!

    EDIT:

Wanted to add that YES to this so much, this is one of the reasons Unreal and UT have been my absolute FAVORITE game franchise in the world. So many styles, so many themes, I mean it literally works with everything. One minute you can be in fricken SPACE with low gravity bouncing around on spaceships in an epic deathmatch battle, and then the next moment you're transported to a grungy rusty industrial map with tight hallways and corners and such, and I just love love love that about the Unreal Tournament games. It's actually the same with Drum & Bass music. DnB is heavily influenced by many many things and many other genres, and one moment you can have a Drum & Bass track that is heavy and hard hitting and industrial like the sounds of Kryptic Minds & Leon Swich, Dom & Roland, and then the next track can be a beautiful mellow minimal song that just gives you chills down your spine, like the sounds from Bop or Blue Motion, sounding completely different but still Drum & Bass in the end.

    Here's 2 examples of what I mean:

    and then...

I've heard DnB influenced by classical, jazz, rock, you name it really. Everyone I show DnB to as well says "Hey this is awesome, sounds like video game music!" Haven't really met anyone who actually disliked DnB overall. And most people I show it to have never heard of DnB before, and they like it. ^^

    EDIT TWO:

Started something else today, not sure if works for UT but lemme know what you guys think

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/5diwa7ok5r...ea%29.mp3?dl=0

    EDIT THREE:

So many edits! Don't wanna double post though haha. Finished the tune above, v1 of it anyway. lemme know what u guys think!

    EDIT FOUR:

OmG mOrE eDiTs!? I ended up making a 3RD song today! I dunno what got into me but all i've been doing all day is making music haha! This one was a request from PayBack who wanted a heavy hard and fast paced DnB track for his new map, and here's what I came up with, enjoy!
