launcher installer problem

Hello, for some reason I can't install the launcher. When I open the .MSI it gives me this error :

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personel or package vendor.

I've already installed the visual basic dist and directX packages. what's the problem?

At least you get an error for me it just changes my cursor to loading icon for a few seconds and then doesn't do anything else.

@Care_police, @Swanson Thank you for providing your logs. I suspect your Windows user account lacks sufficient privileges to properly access the C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\temp folder. One solution is to do this:

1) Navigate to C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local (Replace *USERNAME* with your windows user name)
2) Right click on the temp folder and select properties.
3) Choose "Security"->Edit->Add
4) Add the windows username you are using and give yourself "All" rights

As an alternative, you can also run the installer as Administrator.
1) Start a command prompt as Administrator
2) Run the installer similar to the way you obtained installer logs: msiexec /i C:\{Path to Installer}

Hi guys, I can't install launcher on windows 10 64. It says : "an error ocurred while applying security settings. BUILTIN/Users is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check your network and click Retry, or Cancel to end the install."

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Just go to properties of the file then, go to compatibles->click on run this program in compatibility mode for previous windows . That`s it guys enjoy
