    WARfare doesn't have to wait for vehicles

    I understand the vehicles are creating problems, but I don't understand why these problems have to hold back WARfare. Just give us nodes and power cores and port a few maps from UT3, and the people who wanna make WAR maps can start doing so. I don't mind the vehicles, but WAR on foot, 5v5, is a really stragetic and fun game type.     I do agree that it would be good to get some foundations there for this type of game. It is not for the fragging purist, but as a game type it is possibly the best in the series and both newbie and "pro" friendly.

    I'm also pretty sure I've seen cr4zy playing a few times
    Current Main Issues: Tri-Rox (Remove), Scoreboards lack player stats,Team Balance.

      I think Warfare without vehicles is an interesting idea and would work well in this game. Hopefully if Epic decides to create a new mode to put into the game, it would be this.

        I remember there were a couple maps like that. They worked well. Some were simple mods of CTF maps with the cores at the flag locations along with 2 or 3 nodes setup between. I think it was the GOW server that had at least one with a countdown node as well. Those were fun.

          I mentioned this idea before - starting on the gametype.. it's probably in the community's hands though if you want it any time soon.

          I'd rather have a new vehicular gametype as an official mode.

            I sorta like the idea, but I'm skeeeered it would be a slippery-slope to abandoning vehicles altogether. (Which appears to be the case anyway?*)

            *What exactly IS the problem with vehicles?

            Sigh . . . > 2.5 years in and still nothing.

              Engine wise there were some claims that vehicle support wasn't there. 4.14 has improved vehicle support but I don't know if that addresses what the UT community was complaining about.

                The anti vehicle crowd started with UT2 and grew with UT3. Many of them blame vehicles for stealing players away from the other game types like CTF and TDM. vCTF had large player numbers compared to CTF. In UT3 CTF died off very soon after release, it lasted slightly longer in UT2. .

                Some believe vehicles destroy the purity of the game. I remember many toxic conversations on several different forums. Bottom line, folks will only believe what they want to believe.

                  I meant problems regarding the engine coding. I got the impression there was something new, but apparently not.
                  People have been ******* on vehicular gametypes for UT4 ever since these forums opened when Pogle promised we'd get them.
