Personally, 100% yes for me as it was my favorite game mode and I thought it had the best teamwork, strategy, and competitive fun out of all the game modes. What do you guys think? Just a simple "yes", "no", or "doesn't matter to me". If you choose "No" then explain why not in a post.

This is the mentality we need if you don't want to play don't play but for me it was all bout vehicles was the reason i played for years and years! We need vehicle modes it was a whole other element that took unreal over the top in my opinion !

Yes; please bring back VCTF! I thought it was the best mode in UT3; i liked other modes like deathmatch and other; but personally i think vehicle ctf is and was the best in Ut3.
    Please bring it back!!!

No. Never enjoyed the vCTF to the extent that I enjoyed TDMs and duels. Let's focus on what is the 'meat' in UT. Still, that's my personal opinion. I have nothing against vCTF fans.

Vehicles always felt out of place for me in the UT games. Spending development time on making them work (and scaling maps accordingly) shouldn't be a primary concern.

I've never been a big vCTF fan myself but I would never vote against it being being a gametype because if people want to play it then more power to em! Would I want it to be very high on the list of mode's that Epic should work on? Not really. I think the community should (and could) step up on that one, although if Epic makes other gametypes like Onslaught or Warfare then I would think it is relatively easy to import vehicles over into CTF. The real work to be done is proper map's and let the community make them.

Yes I see that the other game modes in Updates late filing as befits the CTF I'd also prefer to have as an update DM & TDM are currently the main game modes right?

I would rather they exert their efforts elsewhere to be honest. I never found VCTF to be fun anyway. I would rather they focus on TDM, DM, and CTF and then update the rest of the gamemodes after release.

How fast you want to play in 1 or 3 years?

I do not want VCTF in the new UT perhaps with an update that would be acceptable
for me. No VCTF in the new UT to release please

LOL, 'sacred cloth'. I can't disagree with that term. But now I'm getting the image of people screaming. "Heresy! That man has removed our sacred cloth from its' pedestal! Kill him!" while the carrier just say, "What? It's just a piece of cloth...?"

Anyway, definitely yes. I play both gametypes and get different feels from the two. Infantry-only CTF is more about getting the flag, escaping fellow infantries (and probably with some escort.) and sometimes I get this claustraphobic feeling. VCTF is more about getting the flag, try to outsmart the vehicle users (I always jumps off the ledge in Suspense to escape enemy tanks. Of course, Manta could be a problem, or Scorpion driver who is crazy enough like me to cross the river through water) and get safely to the base. VCTF always felt more challenging in escaping the pursuer (especially when they drive and you don't), while also felt more 'BOOM BOOM BOOM *insert blood-splattered sound here*' when rushing to the base

I played quite a bit of VCTF and Warfare / Onslaught and enjoyed it but I would be willing to give it up if it meant we would have a stronger TDM and CTF scene like we had back in the early UT99 days. Ideal situation would be DM / TDM / CTF and something like XMP as a stand alone mod.

EDIT: and rocket arena. Would love to see a rocket arena mod with the same quality of the ut99 mod version.

I don't like these polls to vote smth OUT, but since many suggested such exclusions it seems at least useful to get some of their reasons and try to resolve their problems with the denied game aspect.

vCTF is a must for me, I cant go back to CTF or any other infantry-only-gametype anymore; vCTF brought UT to a whole new level and the vehicle strength in UT3 towards infantry is perfect imo:
    • generally stronger (like a tactical superior force in the battlefield must be)
    • still fast to be taken out with the right means (much experience and skill required)

So I guess what I'm saying is that for anyone who didn't feel this gametype was fun or successful, blame the VCTF maps you were playing, not the gametype itself.
While making good vCTF maps is indeed a difficult task, Epic did great with it and the existing stock UT3 maps are pretty much all great. They have all been played in amazing clan wars. A good vCTF map is a map that offers both great indoor fights in bases aswell as a good vehicle battlefield or routes and - as you pointed at correctly - multiple ways (some for vehicles, others for infantry only - possibly in some spots connected) so both forces have their space.

But the reason vCTF public matches aren't always good is the extreme high knowledge and skill demand it takes for a good match.
A good vCTF match is a match of 2 balanced teams playing against eachother with 2 levels of fight power (vehicles & infantry), offense, defense, support, flag carriers on foot with taxiing team mates carrying them home, all working together in high teamplay and skill and dynamically switching functions and reorganising themselves. You need pretty much everything UT can demand: good aim, good movement, weapon, vehicle, map and gametype speciality knowledge to succeed.

    Because of these high requirements,
I think we should rethink competitive maps to include some skill teaching features to get to a better gametype understanding "subconsciously" during map exploration. Like BT maps demanded high movement skills, certain map routes/features/pickups could be wrapped into gametype demanding skill tutorials
