    Screen Flashes.

Louder. Brighter. Something. Options are good.

It also severely impairs the defensive side of the game - ignoring ping, it is nearly irrelevant what your opponent does - click the right pixel and you win. Even non-instant kill instant hit weapons are often problematic - the Shock Rifle example is obvious before even getting to other games.

    Especially "off" option.

So long as "off" is an option, and not a requisite

        As an example:

I don't think this should be forced on anyone, if the current damage indication suits your play style, then that's fine. When playing an aggressive, and close quarters game, the direction damage is coming from is far less important than the severity, which is not indicated in the current setup, nor has been well indicated in previous versions of UT, post '99.

As of late, this game feels designed to unmercifully punish any remotely aggressive play style, and this is one of many issues, including high efficacy weapons, no friendly fire, minimum AoE damages, projectile and hit scan friendly pass through, wrap around splash, slow weapon switch times, and probably a list of other things I can't remember at the moment.

Found this, would like to know how to get it.

It's a bit more persistent than I would like, prefer the fade rate of the old UT, but it is MUCH more attention grabbing, without being obstructive. With an option to tweak falloff this would be magnificent, provided it gets more intense with more damage.
