    IDEA: Impact Hammer secondary fire reduces/prevents fall damage

    Hey there,
    I had an idea of making the secondary fire mode of the impact hammer a bit more useful. Imagine when you fall down the base of CTF-Face or whereever and instead of taking a ton of damage you can take the impact hammer and right click on the floor with the right timing, so the shield emitted from the impact hammer reduces or prevents your fall damage. It wouldn't be as strong as UT2004's shield gun secondary, because you need to time it right and press secondary fire exactly at the right time.

    Do you think this has potential?

    I'd rather that this was the only use of the secondary It'd be much more fun to play against without the shield and it'd give the hammer utility in larger scaled gamemodes.

      why doesn't this community work together?
      have u even tried to achieve that effect with my prototype i've posted just a few threads ago? it will very slightly dampen your fall, you'd just have to shoot into the opposite direction. what you describe could be achieved with the same effect i've used, just a push effect (like a splash damage) instead of a pull effect as being used in my protoype. i've even played around with push effect, but preffered pull, because of other features it has to offer... which you don't have to like, but well... people in this forum should maybe try to directly talk to each other.
      +it's a ut2k4 shield hammer feature
      +jump boots already dampen your fall (which haven't been part of 2k4)

        No, if someone shoot you out of a high place, you can survive using impact and also you can always run falling down and using impact... if the enemy chase you, he will need do the same, so you can easily kill him while he is cushioning the fall and switching the weapon again.

          yes, please add an attribute to the impact hammer secondary to buffer fall damage! it would help ctf flag runners tremendously (see titanfall jumps)!
