    European Pugging Discord Community

Click this link to be invited to our server: https://discord.gg/0mQ8VgXkbLQkt7XS

We have a European community we want to grow. We have a functional PUGbot, and are organizing PUGs often. We focus mainly on nwCTF and Duel but play other gamemodes regularly. We use a new client called Discord that is superior to irc/teamspeak in many aspects. We also have people who will be willing to test out something you've made almost every time. Join for games or just to have a chat.

We are a relatively new community in the unreal tournament scene, but are growing bigger everyday. This post is just an introduction to what we do, and why you should care.We currently have a well established Discord server up that caters to players of all needs, we have active Mods and Admins, while also having a good amount of regulars most nights. We also have a fully functional PUGbot! While our main focus is nwCTF, Duel and LTS/Showdown, we are always welcome to players of different preferences and will do our best to accommodate all new players.

You can use Discord as WebClient, PC or Smartphone application.

    Click this
    https://discordapp.com/invite/0mQ8VgXkbLQkt7XS to join our server.
-On the top of the left menu you can see your private messages and below the servers you are connected to
    - After choosing a server you can see different menus
    - On the left side (next to the servers) you should see all the channels available for you to join, for now join "#main"
    - On the left you can also see the voice channels available to you, double click one to join one
    - On the right is a list of everyone on the server, online or offline. It also classifies users based on whether they are a moderator or not, so you can always see who you can ask for help.
-type ".help" in the mainchat to get the commands list for the
    PUGbot

We hope to see you soon!

Will hop on and join you guys ASAP

If anyone is reading this before @GGaben just copy the url you are actually seeing, instead of clicking on it

Could you give a lowdown of how things work for people who have PUG'd before?
As in, what do you do? how do you get into a game? what are the rules and expectations?

I assume you meant a short introduction for people who have not PUG'd before.

There is a very detailed guide here, if you wanna read this you can skip the IRC and TeamSpeak part as this is not really relevant for Discord. It's not really neccesary as you learn the most things when you play a PUG.
PUG stands for PickUpGame, basicly it's a normal match using voice chat (Discord in our case). You use voice chat to communicate with your teammates effectively, for example to ask for cover or to switch positions or stuff.
A PUG usually requires a minimum on skill or experience, but as long as you can dodgde and know the weapons more or less there shouldn't be a problem (knowing maps is a really huge advantage).

When you're in the Discord #main chat you either type .start ctf myPugNameOrInfoYouWannaGive or .join nameOfAlreadyCreatedPug. You can type .ls to see all active pugs, .ls pugName to view who is signed for which pug. Once the pug is filled, (for CTF) two people will have to type .captain to pick and manage the teams. This should be done by someone who knows many of the players so the teams can be picked more or less equally.
In the picking phase it might be important to tell that you are a beginner, mid-skilled, defender etc. (if the captains don't know you).
After everyone has been picked, you join the new created Discord-Voice-Channel (either red or blue, depending on your team) where the captain might ask what map and position you wanna play trying to setup a good team. You mostly play with 2 defenders, 1 mid and 2 attackers, but this always changes from time to time. I often tend to choose someone for mid who can play any position so he can play what's currently needed most.
As for the rules, I don't really know, might depend on who opens the match but usually there are no rules (except for standard ones like don't flame etc).
Some players are expecting you to have a mic, in my opinion it's not a must, but it's definitely helpful. Since we mainly play on UnrealPrime hub you could download all content before your pug so there are no download times.

Just as a short introduction, if you have any questions there's always someone who can help you in the discord chat.

You have never played a pug with us but I appreciate your constructive feedback.

Edit: Please don't say I wouldn't know you, I know who you are.

I'm not really a pug player (or a CTF guy at all), but I'm enjoying myself in this small community.
I seriously hope this one to grow big and grow fast. Good job with the bot and the overall construction!
Felt like saying it here so all could read a thought from someone who usually stays on their own while playing. Really, a recommended community, this one
