    What if???

    CTF
    Onslaught
    VCTF

Were there own games within The Epic games launcher?
Instead of all being under one game---> Unreal Tournament
Each game could have its own independence , flair, identity. With fresh skins, vehicles etc.

    That would be super annoying.

It would be pretty unnecessary. The core game (guns/armor/movement) being the same across the board is what makes it easy to transition from one community/gametype to the other. It's also arguably one of the things that keeps the legacy game types afloat, and gives them exposure. Using the less competitive game types as a gateway.

Only reason to "separate" them is as a balancing crutch, because people apparently think it would be so much easier to just adjust the core on a per-game-type basis. There is no reason a core game can't be thought up that suits them all, just as it has been done in the past. People just need to get their heads out of the box, and stop thinking so derivative. The game types should be designed around the core, not the other way around. Even what Epic has done with Blitz is very sub-par. Disappointing.

Even non-instant kill instant hit weapons are often problematic - the Shock Rifle example is obvious before even getting to other games.
