UT4 Could Have Been The Fortnites of AFPS

UT2k4 will forever be the best arena shooter and I wish Epic would have just remade it in UE4 focusing on onslaught and TAM. It would have been the Fortnites of Arena Shooters.

Hundreds of thousand of players would be playing it by now. People would be playing Onslaught like crazy and competitively also.

Team Arena mode would be the new Counter Strike.

Buuuuuut noooooooo. Instead Epic tried to be the Overwatch of Arena Shooters and FAILED.

    NOBODY likes the Blitz mode.

Just scrap UT4 altogether and just remake UT2k4 in UE4 and give it for 5 bucks.

    nuff said.

How to turn UT2k4 into a openworld sandbox?

Calculating server join port maximum equals useable
map dimension also considering vehicle movement.

Equals many defendable positions like fort ruins
and what not else be spreaded over the map
and connected with various terrain carpetings.

Maybe some new gimmick or what to enable players
to wave their flag for some airchopping frag seeker
to come at them and to his/her doom or destiny.

All in all the way better DM in general and
of course much cooler than Minecraft or its likes. .

P.S.: Though this concept would rather suceed in UT99
for all the known reasing but not before its bots actually learned to fly ... .

UT4 is the best UT to date, the movement mechanics are a lot more interesting and frankly are better than any other FPS out there IMO. I do find Blitz mode a bit boring, but a lot of people seem to be playing it all the time. I prefer CTF honestly, that's where the real fun is at.

UT4 and Blitz is good stuff!
The problem with UT is the same problem Quake has, the players who grew up with the series are now grown *** men/women with jobs and families, while the younger gamer generation is mostly unaware of the AFPS genre, their closest experience most commonly being overwatch.
Need fresh blood, need a new generation of fraggers to fuel the playerbase, problem is teens have more experience camping behind a box with a RNG rifle than running around at the speed of greased lightning packing an instagib rifle.
UT4 needs to get a grip of the younger gamers in order to be rejuvenated and right now they aren't even trying, at all.

Observations from working in a Swedish E-sports cafe.

LOL WUT? Blitz mode is cool, and UT2004 generally far from AFPS with these vehicles. Deathmatch of UT2004 is not comparable to UT99, large maps and hight speed just ruined all the fun of shooting, Everyone play only this childish onslaught mode. this is not AFPS.

Well the Paragon tab in the Epic launcher just disappeared today, so UT is now right next to Fortnite at the top.... maybe more people will notice it now?

Says "UT2k4 was the best arena shooter." Sites two non-arena game types, and it wasn't as good as it's predecessor. lol.

Honestly 2kx would have been Epic if they didn't jump the shark with the double jump, and destroy the scaling, which unfortunately makes that title unrecoverable. UT is still the only one to nail scaling. I do like the UT4 movement mechanics as well, though they need some tuning.

In today's net environment, however, all the weapons are now ******.

Even non-instant kill instant hit weapons are often problematic - the Shock Rifle example is obvious before even getting to other games.

UT2004 is pretty close to perfection from a gameplay perspective, would love to see it revised and built upon.
