How do I submit an account recovery request?

Before submitting an account recovery request, please make sure you have first tried the steps in How can I recover access to my Epic Games account?

If those steps did not help you regain access, you can submit a recovery request using the multistep account recovery form. During this process, we will ask for detailed information to find your account and verify your request.

The more accurate account information you provide, the easier it will be for us to recover it. You can skip steps if the information is not available to you.
Note: We can only process account recovery requests submitted through this form.

Please follow the steps below.

  1. Update email address. Enter the email address you want to use for your Epic Games account from now on and select Continue. Then enter the security code sent to that email address and select Continue again.
    Note: This is the email you will use to sign in once your account is recovered, and the email we will use to contact you. If you do not see the security code email, please check your spam folder.
  2. Find your account. Provide information to find the account you want to recover by choosing one of the following options: Note: Selecting Account ID or Invoice ID will help us locate your account more accurately.
    Note: If one search option does not work for you, please try a different option.
    Note: To protect your account, some steps in this form have limits. If you see an error, please wait and try again later.
  3. Account email addresses. Once your account is found, fill in all email addresses you have used on your Epic Games account, starting with the most recent one
  4. Display names. Fill in the most recently used Epic Games display name, the original display name, and any other display names used on the account.
  5. Name and location. Fill in your first and last name, and the country used when the account was created.
  6. Linked accounts. Fill in details about any console or social accounts linked to your Epic Games account, including:
    • The external account type
    • The ID, gamer tag, display name, or profile name
    • The approximate linking date
    • Whether the account is currently linked
  7. Payment information. Fill in details about payment methods used for any Epic Games purchases, such as card or PayPal.
  8. Submit request. Review the summary and make sure the information is correct. You can add anything else that might help in the text field at the bottom. Select Submit to send your request.
